Bear Lake

Bear Lake is a beautiful and much-visited lake in the heart of the Park. There is a mostly-level paved trail around the lake, with a surprising variety of wildflowers, trout, and wildlife to be seen in this lake only a hundred yards from the parking lot.

Half Mountain, its right side sheared off by the glacier that cut Glacier Gorge, is seen at left, with Longs Peak and the pyramidal Pagoda above to its right. Below are Glacier Knobs, two lumps of harder rock that resisted the glacier.
