About Me

Hello! I'm Cecilia Mai, a student currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at the University of Texas at Austin, set to graduate in May 2025. My academic journey has equipped me with a robust skill set in Java, C, Python, and JavaScript, complemented by practical experience in areas such as data structures, machine learning, and ethical hacking. I've actively contributed to several impactful projects, including WallGenie, where I collaborated on developing an innovative space planning tool using JavaScript and React. My involvement in projects like the Severe Crash Injury Predictor and Pintos Operating Systems reflects my passion for applying theoretical knowledge to real-world challenges, demonstrating proficiency in data manipulation, machine learning, and system optimization. Beyond technical skills, I am fluent in Vietnamese and continually seek opportunities to integrate diverse perspectives into my work.

WallGenie: Collaborated with a team of 4 using JavaScript, React, and CSS to develop a convenient and interactive application providing users with a tool to visualize and plan their living spaces virtually.
Severe Crash Injury Predictor: Tested and trained on a labeled dataset appropriate for supervised learning to predict whether the driver got a severe injury through the use of feature engineering, cross-validation techniques, and Random Forest Classifier model, achieving an 80% accuracy.
HiBarbie: Created a high-fidelity prototype with Figma with a team of 4 of an app interface that's purpose is designed to create a supportive space for women at UT Austin by providing a platform for users to share accomplishments, aspirations, and networking opportunities within a close-knit community
