Accommodations for CS303E

Students registered with UT's Disability and Access (D & A) office are entitled to certain accommodations to facilitate their participation in classes. This information is conveyed to faculty in the form of a letter from D & A to the faculty member shortly after the student qualifies. Accommodations vary depending on the student's situation.

The staff of CS303E is committed to providing any accommodations to which you are entitled. However, because of the asynchronous nature of our CS330E class certain of these accommodations aren't particularly relevant, as explained below. The ones that are most relevant are extra time on quizzes and exams.

Use of techology to take notes: all of the slides and videos are available. There are no required class meetings; any technology you find helpful is allowed.

Ability to record lectures: videos are already available on the class webpage. It is our intention to record the periodic tutorial sessions and make those videos available.

Copy of class notes: all slides and videos are available from the class website.

Access to materials in class: everything is available from the class website.

Alternatives to group work: there are no group assignments.

Alternatives to class presentations: there are no class presentations.

Use of laptop on essay questions: exams are written, but there are no essay questions. If writing is an issue for you, please contact us prior to exams and we will make appropriate arrangements.

Seating accommodations: since there are no required class meetings, seating is not an issue.

Flexibility in attendance: there are no required class meetings, except exams, so attendance is not an issue.

Flexibility with deadlines: you can have needed flexibility. Please communicate your needs to your TA; the TAs have been asked to be understanding and work with you. However, this class moves quickly, so it's not a good idea to fall behind.

Extra time on quizzes: quizzes are given on GradeScope and a deadline is automatically enforced. Any extra time you are allowed will be provide in the form of a special GradeScope quiz accessible to you; be sure to let us know if you're not seeing this. TA Sam Ziegelbein is the go-to guy for this.

Extra time on exams: students allowed extra time on exams will take the exam in a special location, proctored by one of the TAs, and receive any additional time allowed. This also provides a reduced distraction environment for exams.
