In this course, you will read a number of research papers in the area
of computer architecture. These assignments will give you good
practice in reading and learning from original sources rather than
just from textbooks. For each assigned paper, you will submit a paper
summary and be prepared to discuss the paper in class. Due dates for
the summaries are indicated on the course schedule.
The summary is not intended to solely be a "book report", but instead
to give you an opportunity to analyze and comment on the work in your
own words. Below are the expectations of the summaries:
- Length: 1/2 to 1 page, typewritten, 12pt font or smaller
- One or more paragraphs that provide a general overview of the paper
- One or more paragraphs that include your analysis of the most interesting point you took away from the paper
These will be graded on a check, check-plus, and check-minus basis;
the scores will be included in your homework grade.
