Running the system

In order to run the system you need to:

1.

Start the Flat display (in a machine other that Vulcan)

       $ java flat.Flat <port-number> &

The machine you run the display and <port-number> have to be the ones specified in setup.scm (see Section 1.5.2 above).

2.

Log into Vulcan.

       $ ssh -X vulcan

3.

Start the Vulcan Servers.

       $ startservers

4.

Run the system from the emacs shell.^1.5

       $ emacs &
       In emacs, ask for a shell (meta (ESC-x) shell), and at the
       shell prompt type
       $ runsystem
