In terms of the assignment, not much. I mostly just set up the issues, labels, cloned the repos, etc. I definitely will dedicate more time in the coming days to wrapping up the first project.
I'm not facing any major issues with the project right now, but I think that's because I haven't worked on it enough for my problems to pop up yet. I was a bit worried about caching earlier in the week, but Friday's lecture helped clear up some of my thoughts. In particular, I want to use a meta cache and lazy cache to get past problem 3 on HackerRank.
A lot, I hope! I'm planning on spending more time on my own to focus on my homework. I pushed off a lot of this project to the last minute, but at least I spent my time well last week by exercising a lot.
I didn't expect it to be as interesting as it actually was. One of the classmates in my random group asked why there was a dash before one of the commands ('-git add html'). I initially thought that the dash signified removing files from the commit, but that didn't happen when I tested it out on a dummy directory. So then I figured this has to be a makefile thing (not git) and turns out it is! From the link:
- means ignore the exit status of the command that is executed (normally, a non-zero exit status would stop that part of the build).
I liked the math aspect of IsPrime and how we discussed issues that could pop up with using float/double representations of numbers. I also like how coverage quantifies how good our unit tests are; quantifying the paths of execution used is pretty cool!
I had really, really bad allergies today and my roommate gave me a pill to help the sniffles go away. Both my roommate and modern medicine saved the day! Also, I got to call my brother. :)
I found a blog post about CSS! In particular, it's an interactive guide to flexbox.
