Venus Distribution

Distribution of Venus is restricted by the Gnu Public License. Downloading the software indicates an acceptance of the terms set forth by the Gnu Public License.

Anyone wishing to obtain the software can start by sending mail, or download one of our distributions. Distributions of Venus are provided in the following architectures and compilers.

Windows NT for use with the Microsoft Visual C++ 5.0 compiler.
Solaris / SunOS 5.5.1 for use with the CC compiler, Sun's native C++ compiler
Solaris / SunOS 5.5.1 for use with the GNU C++ compiler

Previous versions of the software have lived under HPUX, Linux, Intel SCO, IBM AIX, and SGI Irix. We might be willing to revive those if you have a compelling need.

The distribution includes:

Venus compiler and rule debugger
Program test suite
Sample rule-based query optimizer for relational databases
Documentation and selected papers
