Subsection4.3.2Parking
Warning
Parking could be a mess. Those without UT parking permits will want to strongly consider NOT driving to campus. If you do get to campus, you may want to first try the San Jacinto Garage. 1 . If that one is full or only open to permit holders, the next garage to try is the Brazos Garage. 2 . Regardless, give yourself some extra time.
I will try to give updates on current parking information as we get closer.
We suggest you park in the
Subsection4.3.3Getting to the meeting room
The meeting is in GDC 6.302 (the faculty lounge for the CS department). To get to this room:
From the San Jacinto garage go west on 24th Street. Go south on Speedway and GDC 3 will be on your left.
GDC consists of two buildings connected by an atrium. You will want to go to the elevators for the north building. (The north building has two side-by-side elevators. The south building has only one.)
Take the elevator to the sixth floor.
The faculty lounge is a little hard to find.
When you exit the elevator, turn left.
Take a right in front of the classroom and go past the restrooms.
Turn left into the corridor.
The faculty lounge is the large room on the left at the end of the hall.
Subsection4.3.4Before the meeting (Thursday and Friday)
Some of us will be there setting up starting around 8am.
There will be coffee (caffeinated and decaffeinated), tea, baked goods, etc.
If you need a more substantial breakfast, you may want to go to O’s Cafe in the POB building next door (just north of GDC). You can reach POB through a connecting corridor between the buildings.
Subsection4.3.5Lunch on Thursday
Given that it will be still very hot outside, we suggest people consider getting lunch at O’s Cafe in the POB building next door.
Subsection4.3.6Dinner on Thursday
We will not be providing dinner. We may suggest a place where people can informally meet. Details to be discussed at the meeting.
Subsection4.3.7Friday afternoon
We have reserved the faculty lounge through Friday afternoon. Feel free to stick around and interact with us and with each other.
