Current UT Students

If you are interested in joining the Turing Scholars program and have excelled in your current CS and math courses, please consider the following opportunities.

Enroll in Individual Honors Courses
Our CS honors courses typically have a limited number of spaces available for non-Turing Scholars. Any strong student is welcome to apply for enrollment.

Download, print, and fill out an application for each CS Honors course that you wish to take, and submit the application(s) to the CS Undergraduate Advising Office in TAY 2.126. Separate requests are needed because the forms are evaluated by the individual faculty members who teach the course. In some cases, faculty may ask you to also make an appointment for a brief interview.

If you are selected for enrollment in a CS Honors course, the CS Undergraduate Advising Office will add you to the course (you need not be present for the add).

Students interested in applying for the Turing Scholars program are particularly encouraged to apply for individual CS Honors courses. These courses not only allow you to explore the Turing Scholars Program, and they can enhance your chances of being admitted to the Turing Scholars Program if you do apply in the following summer.

Join the Turing Scholars Program
Current pre-CS majors may apply in June for admission to the Turing Scholars Program by submitting the following to the CS Undergraduate Advising Office:
» Application/Submission Instructions (PDF)
Successful applicants will enter the program in the fall and will begin taking honors courses as appropriate for their background.
