Data Type
A data type consists of:
- A set of values
- One or more operations on the values.
A language often defines a syntax for writing constant values.
Scheme has a number of data types:
- Numbers: integer, rational, real, complex.
- Boolean: #t (true) or #f (false).
- Symbols: pi ontogeny cs307
- Characters: #\a
- Strings: "Hi Mom!"
- Vectors: linear sequences of values
- Pairs or cons cells, used to make Lists
- Procedures
