Installing ROS and Ubuntu 20.04

Please refer to the course's github repository for ROS installation instructions: https://github.com/UT-Austin-RobIn/robot_learning_ws/.

Dual Booting

Dual Booting Disclaimer:

You must back up your files before doing this process, as it is always risky to try to dual boot.

Many windows 11 machines will have Microsoft Bitlocker encryption on their hard drives.
Trying to dual boot without disabling bitlocker will cause the machine to lock the hard drive.

For more information about bitlocker: here.

To disable bitlocker follow these instructions: here. Then proceed to the instructions below.

In case you forgot to disable bitlocker, follow these instructions to recover: here.

Instructions:

Configure your machine to dual-boot Ubuntu by following this tutorial.

Make sure you select Ubuntu 20.04 as it is required for ROS Noetic.
