Several of the UTCS women graduate students took time out of their busy schedules to participate in Take a Girl to College Day.

Take A Girl to College Day offers middle school girls their first taste of college life. Girlstart partners with The University of Texas math, science, and engineering student organizations to provide girls enrolled in local school programs a glimpse of the college experience. Girls take part in a campus scavenger hunt, pair up with female college mentors, hang out at the student union, attend college classes, and visit our mini science expo with hands-on activities like making polymers and investigating static electricity. For many of the girls, who are primarily from low-income households, Take A Girl to College Day marks their first opportunity to imagine themselves as college students.
