04/10/2014 - Vitaly Shmatikov has been selected to receive a CNS Teaching Excellence Award for 2014. The College of Natural Sciences Teaching Excellence Award is intended to provide recognition of the College’s many exceptional faculty who are committed to teaching at either the undergraduate or graduate level.
06/14/2012 - UTCS alum Arvind Narayanan, who completed his Ph.D. in 2009, will be starting in the fall at Princeton as a tenure-track assistant professor.
04/14/2012 - Current UTCS Ph.D. Student Suman Jana is the recipient of a Google Ph.D. Fellowship and received the Best Paper Award at the 2012 IEEE Symposium on Security and Privacy.

Vitaly Shmatikov, a young, fast-talking associate professor of computer science studies privacy in ubiquitous data sharing systems, from Facebook to hospitals to Netflix.
