Prof. Kim's research focuses on designing new hardware and software systems that make cloud and edge data centers faster, more efficient, and more resilient. His current projects includes:
- Resource management for programmable cloud infrastructure
- Robust and resilient cellular network infrastructure
- End-to-end framework for network transport design and implementation
- Learning-directed operating system
