We are looking for passionate, innovative, and intellectually curious students who are eager to bridge the gap between computer science and another discipline. The ideal candidate for the X+CS Integrated Degree Program should demonstrate a strong academic background and enthusiasm for integrating computer science with another field and leveraging that combination to solve complex problems. We strongly suggest that students demonstrate calculus readiness to be eligible for this program.

The X+CS Integrated Degree program offers classes that give students the tools to think critically, analyze data, and approach problems from multiple perspectives. The curriculum challenges students to develop new ideas and innovative solutions at the intersection of technology and the humanities or sciences. The program’s integrated curriculum allows students to complete their degrees in four years while providing robust programming. Dedicated advisors provide students with personalized attention and unique opportunities. Students learn from not only esteemed professors in multiple departments, but also from each other.

Students denied admission to the X+CS Integrated Degrees program at UT Austin are at no disadvantage for regular admission and are still fully reviewed for their first and second-choice majors listed.

UT Austin is consistently recognized as one of the best value universities for the money invested. This means that students aren’t just getting an education; they are also getting the resources they need to land the career they want.   We understand that cost is a big factor for most students. When comparing scholarship and financial aid awards, it is important to look carefully at the net cost of each school and think about what you are getting for that amount.

This optional deadline will require UT Austin application submission by October 15, with a guaranteed decision regarding their university admission communicated to applicants by January 15. The regular applications deadline will remain December 1, with a guaranteed decision communicated by February 15.

Students wanting to learn more about X+CS, the Department of Computer Science, or the College of Liberal Arts, can attend a UT Austin In-person Interest Session.
