A $5 million matching gift from venture capitalist Bill Gurley will help establish Texas Robotics’ new undergraduate degree program at UT Austin as a national leader. Launching in Fall 2025, the program is the first in the U.S. to admit freshmen directly and has already drawn over 3,500 applications for just 50 spots. Gurley’s investment will fund research opportunities, experiential learning, and state-of-the-art lab upgrades, ensuring UT remains at the forefront of robotics education and innovation.
