Live Class Sessions

Students in the class were required to tune in live to the Thursday class sessions. In each session, there were spots for about 20 students to be in the studio with Prof. Stone. The rest watched on a live stream. Each student was required to attend class in teh studio once during the semester, with extra credit given for coming a second time. The class sessions were used to address issues that were raised by several students in their comments on the readings and/or written reflections that were due on Tuesday.

The class sessions included one or two live polls, as well as three discussion prompts. For the discussions, the students were divided into chat rooms of about 10 students each, with one of the members being present live in the studio. Then the students in the studio engaged in a live discussion with the Professor, representing both their own opinions and those of the people in their chat rooms. Students were graded based on their participation in the chats.

Since students' full names were used in the class sessions, we cannot share the full video recordings. But a sample edited recording is provided below under "Week 2".
